ASHLEY GILES - Neighbor in Ward 3, ecologist, and river steward

I met Don and Carol Cameron around the neighborhood but got to know Don in 2022 when I approached him with concerns about the proposed solar farm installation on South Table Mountain. Without pause, Don got to work on the issue. The following year, Don asked that I join a small working group looking at possible Clear Creek improvements where he brought to the table the reality of effective governance and limited budgets, yet he always maintained a solution-oriented perspective. Since then, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with Don on a handful of civic projects including development of the Open Space Master Plan, neighborhood parking issues, and, most recently, encouraging Xcel Energy to adhere to a wildfire readiness plan. Don is a multifaceted and dynamic leader who takes his roles as neighbor, citizen, and council member very seriously. I am endlessly impressed with his and Carol’s commitment to our city and grateful Don is filing to continue to serve us on City Council.
