We have worked with Don on several neighborhood issues, not all of which we had the same opinion about. What we really appreciated about Don in these interactions is that he was legitimately interested in having a dialog about the issue, seeking to understand our perspective, sharing information about the broader context, and being willing to reconsider his ideas. In a moment when any conversations about politics, local or otherwise, seems to jump immediately to finger-pointing and name-calling, it is refreshing to work with someone who looks at community issues with an eye to understanding the range of perspectives and finding solutions, while trying to bring the community together.
